To Get Listed On Google You Need to Be Deliberate

You want MLM success. But right now you may be blogging away, and no one knows you are out there. However, if you build your blog right, they’ll come! First, be deliberate about your objective of driving traffic and stay focused on your goal. Yes, THEY will come (!).

Principles to Get Listed on Google

To get listed on Google and achieve MLM success, you want to be on the first page of Google.  To command MLM success, be deliberate and understand how search engines “think” when they are searching and what drives search engine rankings.  You do not have to be an IT professional, SEO expert or computer expert.  You only need to understand the basics. For example, if you want to find the definition of a word in the dictionary, you need to know that a dictionary is organized alphabetically or you would never locate the word.  It’s not any different with Google.  Google is very simple. Google ranks by popularity, and Google searches and finds information based on relevancy tied to keyword or key phrase matches. 

So, be deliberate. Know the key principles that you need to focus on and control to get listed on Google and help get your blog posts ranked well.

Here are some tips for MLM success in Google ranking:

1.      Content Relevancy:  You want to blog about subject matter that is needed and searched by your target audience on Google.

2.      Content Originality: Google does not accept copycats. Make sure that your content is unique in its wording and presentation.

3.      Keyword Focus: Your content should be constructed around a keyword or keyword phrase that is frequently searched by your target audience. The term should not be a phrase that does not have a huge amount of Google search competition.  Always go to the Google keyword search tool to check the search frequency of the term.

4.      Search Engine Optimization of Your Blog Post: There are tricks to wording and formatting your blog post that will “optimize” it for Google search including things like: keyword density; presenting your keyword with bold, italics and underline; using your keyword in headings, and tagging your images with your keyword.  The tool I use and recommend is SEO Pressor.  However, Google has recently (as of 4/12) changed their procedures, and SEO work may no longer be desirable.

5.      Promote your Blog posts: After you post, you want to make sure that you promote your post very actively.  Use the social networks such as Twitter and Facebook and submit to article directories. 

6.      Produce a Lot of Content:  Get a lot of regular blogging going. This will drive more traffic to your site. This, in turn, will increase your popularity ranking with Google and help you get listed on Google. It’s self-generating.

Follow these principles and you will be well on your way to Blogging and MLM Success!

In fact, they claim to be the largest direct seller of telecommunications and essential services in the world.  There are many people who have secured healthy revenues with ACN. There are also many who failed to earn back their initial investment.

ACN stands for American Communications Network and is headquarted in Concord, North Carolina. The company was founded in 1993 by four principals: Greg Provenzano, Robert Stevanovski, Mike Cupisz and Tony Cupisz.  ACN has grown into a significant direct selling telecommunications company.  They operate in 23 countries spanning North America, Europe and Asia.

Certainly the advantages of the ACN energy opportunity is the sheer size of the company. At the same time, as you research network marketing opportunities in energy deregulation, be aware of a no investment alternative.

While the cost to join is not everything, it should be a major consideration for anyone considering an energy MLM. This is because an enrollment cost can be a barrier to entry and business growth.  An entry fee can discourage individuals who make the investment then fail to earn back their money in a short period of time.

Continue reading »]]> One of the greatest MLM tips is to delegate. In a previous blog post I wrote on the importance of duplication. However, duplication is impossible without delegation. They go hand in hand. Strictly defined: to delegate means to authorize to send as one’s representative.

MLM Tips: Whis is Delegation so Important?

Delegation is so important because simply put, you can’t do it all. So the word is delegate, delegate, delegate. But how? The first step is to relinquish control. OK, it’s your baby―you got your network marketing business going; you did all the initial sales; you made all the phone calls; you sweated the long hours; and you trained everybody. But, now it’s bigger than you. You just can’t be everywhere doing everything. Get out of the way and empower your people. Don’t micro-manage and kill it with love. Delegate.

Authorize to send as one’s representative―this means to declare a downline team member as empowered. Talk to a team member and specifically pronounce the delegation. Lay out the exact role, duties and responsibilities. Put these in writing. Guide him/her so that he doesn’t stumble or fall. Then get out of the way. Be available for support and encouragement, but be prepared to step back.

Of the many MLM tips, this is the one that seems counterintuitive: delegate your business for accelerated growth. Guess what? You get it back tenfold. Teammates are happy and excited to have been given responsibility.  You will find that they step up to the plate.  They will start to put on the mantle of leadership. They learn that they also must be prepared to delegate to their downline. You breed delegation, you breed duplication. The result is a strong, unified and highly productive network marketing business.

Isn’t this why you got into network marketing in the first place — so that you could enjoy the financial rewards of a growing, thriving business without “minding the shop” daily and essentially doing all the work yourself?

When you delegate responsibility on your team, you help prepare your downline to take on increased leadership that makes them more comfortable doing more of the same in the future.  Delegation does not mean that you are never involved. Delegation means that you give someone else the authority to manage, typically with some advance coaching to prepare them. When you delegate, you slowly shift the relationship with your downline rep from giving support to providing empowerment.

So what kinds of responsibilities might you consider delegating? (Just think of all the things you currently do and ask yourself what you would like others to help you do or do more of for themselves!) :

• Taking a 3-way call
• Hosting prospects at a local meeting
• Covering a meeting with another team member
• Following up on a business lead
• Helping to lead training

The beautiful thing about delegation (as hard as it is to give up control), is that once a rep starts taking on more leadership responsibility, they start to transform into a true leader.  Their business (and your business), will really start to blossom.   

Give guidance, for sure, but delegate. This is one of the best MLM tips I ever received.

Continue reading »]]> The purpose of this Viridian Energy Review is to highlight some specifics of the opportunity, but also to compare it to other “green” energy opportunities.

Viridian Energy was established about three years ago. Its Founder and CEO is Michael J. Fallquist. Viridian is one of several companies positioned for growth in the deregulated energy industry. Viridian Energy is a direct sales organization focused on providing its customers the opportunity to save money on their electric bill, while making a difference to help the environment. Viridian markets 20% green and 100% wind generated power options.

Viridian Energy Review – Green Difference

Viridian Energy is unique among MLM competitors such as Ambit Energy, ACN and Ignite as Viridian offers a singular focus on promoting “green” energy products.   This positioning has been well received, particularly by Viridian’s customers in the Northeast who have a strong interest in supporting “green living.” Viridian Energy has grown to a company with over $200 million in revenues in just three years. 

As part of this Viridian energy review, it is important to point out that Viridian is not the only energy retailer marketing green energy options. In fact, virtually all of the energy suppliers and energy network marketing competitors offer 100% “green” choices to their customers, along with other lower cost “standard” energy options that might be anywhere from  14% -25% “green.”

Viridian Energy Review – The Representative Opportunity

The Viridian business opportunity can be compared to others such as: Ambit, Ignite, Ampegy and NRG.  Viridian charges a $399 enrollment fee to join its “all-state” program allowing the representative (associate) to market their business in any state where Viridian does business (currently CT, NY, NJ, PA, MD and IL) (MA soon to come). (For April 2012 they have discounted the sign on fee to $199.) In addition, Viridian charges a $19.99 monthly fee for its website and training tools and document downloads. There is also a once a year fee of $59. All together, the Year 1 cost to be a Viridian representative is about $220 -$420.  

The cost to join is not everything. However, it should be a major consideration for anyone considering an energy MLM. This is because an enrollment cost can be a barrier to entry and business growth.  An entry fee can also become a source of disappointment for individuals who make the investment and then fail to “earn back their money” in a short period of time.

Viridian vs No Fee Competitor

It should be pointed out, as part of this Viridian Energy review, that there is at least one other major MLM competitor in the energy segment that requires absolutely no investment to join or any monthly fees for the representative’s website or training.  The company I am referring to offers both a 100% “green” and 25% “green” electricity product.  They also offer a wind energy product, called American Wind,  available in all 50 states.

In addition, with the no fee opportunity, every customer is automatically given the opportunity to get paid to refer other customers or build a no-limits network marketing organization.  I also like the fact that this company makes charitable giving integral to its business opportunity. The company donates $1 per month per customer residually to a charity of the customer’s choice. The compensation plan is also considered one of the most competitive in the MLM industry.

So if you are excited by the idea of building a business to profit from the “green” energy movement and the $850 billion deregulated energy industry (and you should be!),  you’ll want to compare and consider the different opportunities available.

Continue reading »]]> Does no investment network marketing really work? You betcha! But, has the MLM world caught the passion for no investment network marketing? A stubborn belief is that “pay to play” is the only way. No investment network marketing is seen as a red herring. A common belief goes something like this: if there’s no “skin in the game,” then people won’t participate. Another assumption is that if an upfront fee is not involved, then the business model of the parent company may not be financially sustainable.

Some Truths about No Investment Network Marketing

These are faulty beliefs not based in reality. Here’s what I know personally. My core MLM involvement is with a no investment network marketing business. In early March this year, my team had 2,000 reps. Today, six weeks later, my team is almost at 3,700. This exponential growth is extremely difficult to achieve with “pay to play.” Period.

There is absolutely nothing that limits growth with a no investment network marketing business because there are no entry fees. You can’t burn out contacts (friends, relatives and associates). You don’t have to rely on only those who can afford to pay (to play). And you don’t have to fall into the ranks of the shunned. (Most people who join a fee-based opportunity never earn their initial investment back. As a result, they forever resent you for signing them up and causing them to “lose their money.”)

With a No Investment network marketing business, and a meaningful product with a true value proposition like saving on energy services, the business essentially sells itself. The growth is not only explosive but viral. There is no heavy selling involved. Moreover, the reps that come aboard immediately start turning a profit. There are no limits to bringing on business builders.

My phone rings all day from network marketers who have “seen the light.”  To be clear, these are not people who can’t afford to pay a fee!!  They are choosing to join my no investment opportunity because they can clearly see how the no investment opportunity offers a stronger, sustainable, financial opportunity. They have done their due diligence. They have searched for the cracks in the armor.  

Some have been “burned” in the past with recruit to earn opportunities. Others are choosing to abandon their “competitive” opportunities now, because they realize that the no investment option offers a much greater business opportunity for the future.   

The company I work with that offers a no investment network marketing model grossed $125 million dollars in its second year of existence. This company is totally profitable. They are the only network marketing company ever to be profiled by Forbes Magazine. The no investment network marketing model is an ethical and sound way to conduct a totally viable MLM business. Continue reading »]]> The moment when I really truly started to experience the satisfaction of MLM success is when I noticed my business starting to duplicate exponentially.  It took me nearly a year to build a team of 1,000 reps, 6 months for the team to grow by another 1,000 reps, and less than 6 weeks for my business to add another 1,500 reps.  Duplication and compounding is at work.  I can’t wait to see  what happens in the next 6 months!

MLM Success Tip: Be Duplicable, Not Original

To duplicate, by strict definition means: to make an identical copy of; to make or perform again. Notice there is nothing creative: simply copy that which already exists.  MLM success happens easily when your business becomes like a Xerox machine.  Reps join, they follow a simple duplicable system taught by their sponsor and teach the same system to the people they sponsor… and so on. 

Think about it.  If paper is not fed into a copy machine properly, it can jam the whole system. The machine stops functioning properly. Production comes to a halt while the machine gets fixed. The original document did not get duplicated. The misfed paper did not fare well either. It is removed from the machine torn and tattered and useless.

As a team leader your job is that of the machine operator.  You need to instruct people how to use your system properly and do whatever you can to keep it running smoothly.

Sounds easy, right?  Easy, if human beings were as cooperative as paper being fed into machines.  But we aren’t.  We love to create, to be original. We are full of kinks and quirks. We are intelligent and often think we know how to do things even better! We don’t always listen. We don’t always remember. We don’t follow directions. We like our own way. Being an MLM leader can be like herding cats (!).

The objective of the leader focused on achieving MLM success should be to develop a business culture of duplication.  This culture teaches every rep that they need to be a responsible sponsor. A responsible sponsor helps orient every new recruit to the business, training and its “system.”  Sponsors should help each new rep focus on and achieve simple goals, typically as defined by the Fast Start program. Nothing gets a business moving faster than when new reps go out and hit their fast starts!  After new folks have gotten started, specifically train them how to train others to duplicate. Have them role play in training you.

You may be aware that the statistic in network marketing is that 9 out of 10 people who join a fee based opportunity never earn back their initial investment.  Typically, the fast start bonuses will make a rep financially whole or better, so the statistic tells us that 90% of the time, reps are simply lazy or are not receiving the training and support they need to learn how to do their business properly.  It’s hard for me to accept that individuals who paid a hefty enrollment fee were too lazy to succeed.  It’s more likely that they didn’t receive appropriate training and mentoring to help them succeed.

What about Creativity?

New reps, starting out, should be asked to set aside creativity.  It is critical for them to learn the company’s systems so that they can teach it to others.  I admire creativity and I have seen some people achieve terrific MLM success with some very creative marketing.  However, most of the time, the creative techniques are not duplicable. For downlines to grow effectively, an easy system of duplication must be in place.

Most network marketing plans are straightforward and work well as long as everyone participates and continues to participate. It is best to work in small steps with clearly defined goals. You can set long term and intermediate goals. MLM success is not mysterious.

For MLM success, the “culture of duplication” is key. Think of the MLM business as a unified system. They only way the system works is when it duplicates. Each leader, then new leader, has to be a role model and be duplicated. Once the business is humming there will be space for innovation and personal touch. But the core driver has to be almost mechanical duplication. Keep it simple and MLM success will follow.

Continue reading »]]> MLM success is anchored to your leadership, and your leadership is bound to your self-image. Wisdom says to evaluate yourself neither as too high or too low. Somewhere in the middle is the sweet spot of “sober self-judgment.” (Often life gets us there!)

Why is MLM success tied to your self-image? Because how you view yourself will largely determine how you treat others. Therefore, know yourself. Be honestly self-transparent. However, “self-transparency” gets thorny. I remember in my past work life I was asked to take on responsibilities that “weren’t me.” It bothered me. I was not in my sweet spot and it was difficult to lead with authenticity.

MLM Success: Finding Your Sweet Spot

But, now that I am released into MLM freedom (and MLM success), I am free to see everything (and reap the consequences for better or worse). What I need to see and would suggest that you see too is the “sweet spot.” That is, if I view myself too highly or to poorly, I may be viewed as a dominator, autocrat or manipulator.  An off-center sense of self (too high/too low) can make others feel incompetent and even worthless. Not good. MLM success departs.

However, from the sweet spot of self-image, a leader fosters wide open perception in those under him/her. This allows freedom of conversation, expression, creativity and flexibility. From the sweet spot a leader is most effective in helping others on the team find the same midpoint of a healthy, positive self-image in relation to their work and success. They, in turn, can inspire those below them. Challenges, stress and even setbacks are handled better. Moreover, vision, purpose and motivation are enhanced. Now we are onto real MLM success!

You must be vigilant in keeping your self-image in the sweet spot. Keep in the groove. Attitudes like frustration, negativity and impatience can “poison” a downline and shut down your MLM success.  MLM success is a fine tuning. Above all be merciful (especially to yourself). We all fall short at one time or another.

Continue reading »]]> Now that electricity deregulation has come to Ohio, choosing among Ohio electric suppliers can be tricky business.   Electric choice means that as a customer, you can now choose the company that “supplies” the electricity to you, delivered through your local utility.  You remain a customer of your local utility such as Duke Energy or Dayton Power & Light.  However, choosing an electric supplier can save you money on your electric bill.

But how do you choose and what is the difference between the companies on the list of Ohio electric suppliers?  Did you know that there is a “no investment” income opportunity available to Ohioans who would like to “save and earn” by becoming a customer and helping to spread the word and educate others about their energy choice?

Continue reading »]]> Have you ever considered that MLM recruiting success is grounded in good listening skills? Don’t you just hate it; you’re talking with someone―maybe a recruit or a team leader―the person “listening” is glazed over, shifting eye contact, interrupting, glancing at his/her Iphone and answering with off the mark comments. They didn’t listen. The result can be total failure―failure to communicate, failure to form relationship and failure to move business forward.

Conduct an honest self-assessment. Do you in conversation:

1)     Respond quickly?

2)     Control the conversation?

3)     Convert the conversation to your interest or bias?

4)     Do most of the talking?

Chances are most of us struggle with one or all of these check points. But if all four are checked all the time, MLM recruiting success will be allusive. So to improve your recruiting and sponsoring results decide here and now to be a good listener. It does take a conscious choice and effort.

Success with MLM Recruiting: Connecting with People’s Needs

For effective MLM recruiting, you need to be successful at sponsoring people onto your team.  The other person needs to decide not only to join your business opportunity, but to join YOU.  The business of recruiting and sponsoring is relational.  You want to connect with the other person and understand where they are coming from. Your business opportunity should be an answer to some of their needs and wants.  You’ll only find out what they are looking for and how to connect effectively with them if you are prepared to listen.  But, first you need to create a relational dialogue that encourages the other person to share.

Sharing is the result of caring.  If you show a genuine interest in someone else, they are more likely to share. When they share, you want to listen attentively. Place their needs and concerns above yours. Be aware that the mind moves faster than speech. So while the person is talking, you may be wandering off in your own thoughts. Use “thought speed” to focus on what he or she is saying. Note their main points and get a handle on what their real needs may be. What are they really saying? Now you can respond having really listened.

Also when having MLM recruiting conversations, the best way to listen is to “hold your fire.” Don’t let biases set you off. Listen for ideas and grasp the flow of what the person is saying. Judge the content and not the delivery. Work at listening as you resist distractions. Keep your mind open.

When you finish listening, rephrase what the person has said; check with him/her to make sure you “got it.” Have realistic expectations and be patient.  MLM recruiting and listening is a process. It may take a while to really “hear” someone. It may also take a series of conversations to address and answer needs and concerns.

If you are having an in-person conversation, as you are listening to someone talk, also pay attention (listen) to their body language. Nonverbal communication comprises 90% of all communication. What is the person “saying” in his/her facial expressions, eye contact, gestures, muscle tension and personal distance? Listen, and watch for clues to know how best to respond. Now you have really (really) listened.

I guarantee if you do the above your success with  MLM recruiting will increase as your listening improves. You will also find that good listening is good communication, and good communication builds good relationships.
